Who am I?
My name is Chris Baker, and I am a writer and editor in the Bay Area. I have worked for outlets like Wired and Game Developer. I now work with several of my former Wired colleagues at Godfrey Dadich Partners. I have freelanced for outlets like Slate, Vulture, Giant Robot, Rolling Stone, Fast Company, California Sunday, Entertainment Weekly. I also pen the Pop Cultural Precursors Substack. This may evolve, but for now, it’s a repository for my writing. I’ll link to stuff I have published elsewhere, and maybe add some context or open my notebook and add some additional details and insights that I wasn’t able to include in the original piece. I’m also going to republish some pieces that are no longer available on the public Internet.
